CarScope (“we”, “us”) provides an AI-powered car identification, logbook, and leaderboard service at carscope.dev.

2. Data we collect

  • Account info you provide at sign-up (email, username).
  • Scans you save (car photos, AI-identified make/model/year, notes, estimated value).
  • Friend connections you create on the platform.
  • Basic usage and device data via cookies, local storage, and web beacons.

3. Cookies, tracking & advertising

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (including web beacons / pixels) to keep you signed in, measure usage, and serve advertising. Third parties — including Google AdSense and affiliate networks such as the Amazon Associates Program — may set cookies on your device when you visit CarScope or click an affiliate link, in order to attribute clicks, measure conversions, and personalize ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google's settings at adssettings.google.com and via the NAI at optout.networkadvertising.org.

4. Affiliate links

CarScope contains affiliate links (marked as #ad, “paid link”, or #CommissionsEarned). When you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

5. How we use your data

  • Run the scanner, logbook, and leaderboards.
  • Protect the leaderboard from cheating (AI authenticity checks on scan photos).
  • Improve features and fix bugs.
  • Serve and measure advertising and affiliate links.

6. Your rights

You can delete your scans at any time from your logbook, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us.
